Job Description:

Why you want to work for NIBC’s Risk Analytics & Model Validation

As a model validator at NIBC, you’re not just an employee, but a vital player in shaping the bank’s future. Your unique talents and perspectives will be valued and nurtured in our entrepreneurial and inventive culture.

We understand that flexibility is key to a healthy work-life balance. That’s why we provide modern devices and flexible working spaces, allowing you to work where and when you’re most productive.

Joining our Risk Analytics & Model Validation team, you’ll be part of a diverse international team that values collaboration and teamwork. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Central Role: You’ll be at the heart of our organization, interacting with all business units and senior management.
  • Impact: Your opinions matter to us. Stakeholders will value your recommendations, and you’ll see the direct impact of your work. Unlike in a large corporation, you won’t be lost in the crowd but will make a real difference, as your voice will always be heard.
  • Diverse Team: You’ll be part of a diverse international team, learning from the varied experiences of your colleagues.
  • Growth Opportunities: We believe in helping our employees reach their full potential. In addition to excellent financial conditions, we offer ample opportunities for development. At NIBC, you’re not just doing a job; you’re building your career.

What you will do

As a valued team member, you’ll gain exposure to almost all financial products in the bank through our most important models. You’ll interact intensively with all departments of the bank, providing support for valuations, pricing, and risk assessments. For this purpose you’ll need to understand the business. This means you’ll be in direct contact with the business and other risk teams. Your opinions will be valued, and your recommendations will be followed by model owners and the business.

You’ll also have the opportunity to learn about and further develop NIBC’s Economic Capital framework by ensuring appropriate ongoing risk modelling of all the bank’s risks. You’ll work with statistical models and use your own judgment in quantifying the bank’s capital requirements.

Within Risk Management, the Risk Analytics & Model Validation team is responsible for:

  • Bank-wide Analysis and Quantification of Capital Usage: The team owns, develops, and uses the bank’s Economic Capital framework, supporting the business and business performance measurement, the internal capital adequacy assessment process (ICAAP), and reporting to DNB.
  • Validation of Business Critical Models: You’ll validate all business-critical models within the bank, used for valuation, pricing, or risk assessment, like IRRBB, IFRS9, IRB models.
  • Development and Maintenance of Policies and Standards: You’ll help develop and maintain the bank’s model risk-related policies and standards.
