Broaden your horizon as a Risk Model Developer at the head office of the Netherlands’ largest insurance company. Based in The Hague, you will use advanced modelling techniques to strengthen the internal model of NN Group. Your contribution will help us to determine the capital we need to remain as financially robust as we are now.

Wat je gaat doen

You will use your vast experience to a wide spectrum of modelled risks, from credit and equity to longevity and persistency, as well as aggregation challenges. This senior role has a special focus on life/insurance risk modelling.

Operating like an internal risk consultant, you will help to improve the NN Group’s internal model by exploring, developing and testing different options, choosing the one that best fits our risk profile and business needs and then implementing it. You will also create overarching models for other risk modelling teams Group-wide. In addition, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading brainstorming discussions on possible model developments
  • Assessing the impact of the proposed change on our solvency capital requirements
  • Evaluating the consequences of the proposed change for operations and reporting
  • Implementing the change by participating in all stages of the process from defining the data requirements to answering model validation questions
  • Ensuring a smooth handover of the model updates to the other teams and implementing standards within (risk) model development

Wat je meebrengt

You are a good communicator and dedicated team player, with the ability to convey complex issues in a simple way to top management and your colleagues in the field. You like a dynamic environment and you also have:

  • A Master’s degree in econometrics, actuarial science, quantitative finance or a relevant technical background
  • Multiple years of proven experience in risk modelling, preferably life/longevity insurance risk modelling
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills, a good understanding of Solvency II and related Internal Models for the insurance industry
  • Modelling skills and an eagerness to develop these skills further. Also experience with data management is a relevant for the role
  • Experience with programming is a plus

Met wie je werkt

You will be joining the Modelling Squad that is part of the Risk Models & Analytics (RM&A) department at NN’s Group Risk organisation. This team is responsible for all Internal Model-related activities that have to be reported to the Dutch Central Bank. Here, you will be part of the Internal Model project team, a small international team that is highly motivated and results-driven, with an open, collaborative and informal atmosphere.
