In a nutshell

The Lead Operational Risk Management will facilitate the implementation of a robust risk management framework throughout Knab. This role involves identifying, monitoring, analyzing, measuring, managing, and reporting on all operational risks, forming a holistic view of these risks. The Lead will also challenge and assist in implementing operational risk management measures by the business to ensure that the processes and controls in place at the first line are properly designed and effective.

Your main responsibilities:

Create and sustain awareness of operational risk throughout the organization.
Ensure that robust operational risk management is integrated into Knab’s way of working.
Develop and implement an operational risk management approach (in collaboration with the value owners of Knab), including the framework, methodologies, and policies to adequately manage and control operational risk types.
Define data requirements and structure to support an effective ORM framework and methodologies.
Develop and maintain (in collaboration with the Head of Non-Financial Risk) an appropriate Risk Appetite for the underlying operational risks, including forward-looking measures to be presented to and approved by Knab’s Management Board.
Coach and support the development of the other Operational Risk Management team members.

The team

The Operational Risk Management team at Knab consists of 6 dedicated risk specialists who maintain the operational risk framework of the bank. We work closely with other teams within the bank. Joining the Knab Risk team means working with ambitious colleagues in a stimulating environment. The ORM team is part of the Non-Financial Risk Management team. As Lead Operational Risk Management, you will report directly to the Head of Non-Financial Risk Management.

Your profile

As Lead Operational Risk Management, you have proven influencing and relationship management skills. You can challenge conventional practices and pursue continuous improvement. You also have an excellent practical understanding and experience of operational risk management and strong commercial awareness.

Furthermore:

You have an academic degree (MSc or PhD).
A minimum of 10+ years of experience in a compliance and/or risk function within financial services.
Fluency in English and Dutch (both written and oral).
Experience dealing with the ECB and an understanding of the broader EU regulatory environment.
Knowledge of various regulations and regulatory bodies that govern banks and fintech’s.
