Your job
As a Data Modeller, within the Financial Risk domain, your responsibility is to make high-quality data available to internal stakeholders and external regulators. Together with the Devops teams you will be responsible for delivering the needed data for reports on time. You are able to translate business requirements into data requirements and you are able to conduct data analysis. You master industry standards and you are responsible for creating logical and physical data models.
Working environment
The team you will be part of is the Risk Data & Exploration Platform team (RAP). The RAP team is part of the Finance & Risk Data Domain Cluster. Our cluster's goal is to optimize the risk data landscape, ensuring that both our clients and ABN AMRO can conduct business ethically. FRDDS is composed of three teams responsible for collecting, transforming, and integrating data to support reporting and analysis. The atmosphere within the team and the department is open and informal. You will work in a diverse team with many different nationalities where we pride ourselves as a team that get things done.
The Data Application
RAP was originally intended to function as a Domain Data Store to deliver reference data sets as input for risk model development. Now RAP is facilitating more than originally intended, and furthermore, the RAP platform is still in development. Next to model development, RAP now also accommodates model review, model validation, ad hoc analysis for external or internal use, daily & monthly reporting and provides a model run environment for behavioral risk drivers.
Workenvironment
The Finance & Risk Data Domain is part of Finance & Risk Business Grids (F&RBG), and plays an active role for all the Finance and Risk departments. We employ 250+ international professionals with different backgrounds who are driven to bring risk data management to a structurally higher level. Our aim is to generate reliable risk data on time. We do this by improving the risk data itself, data systems and data processes. We work with an Agile operating model.
Your profile
You have a keen interest in and experience with Data Modelling. You are a passionate, hard-working professional with an eye for details. You are able to determine and execute work items independently as well as interact directly with stakeholders when it comes to day-to-day activities. You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and are a true team player.
Do you think we are a good fit? Check your profile:
- You have at least 5 years of relevant work experience with dimensional modelling (Kimball);
- Proven experience in the development, validation, publishing and maintaining logical and physical data models;
- Experience with data modelling tools, preferably Erwin;
- Experience with data management and analytics in a cloud environment (Azure) is an advantage;
- You are a sparring partner for your team and you can share your expertise and educate others in creating dimensional data models;
- Knowledge of the banking domain and affinity with the financial risk domain is an advantage;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (Dutch is an advantage).
