At a glance

Credit risk is a core risk type with the purpose to safeguard ABN AMO’s credit risk profile for generations to come, supporting the banks’ strategic objectives whilst meeting clients and societal expectations. We ensure that changes are implemented in the credit risk landscape - within the credit risk function and broader within the Bank – that these implementations of changes are compliant with regulations, control frameworks are updated, problems are investigated and resolved, and internal and external audits and regulatory inspections & reviews are supported. Our commitment is to achieve our goals through transparent & pro-active communication, optimal collaboration and high-quality deliverables.

We are looking for a colleague to strengthen our team and assume responsibility for regulatory and internal change coordination.

Are you interested in enabling the credit risk department and the Bank as a whole to stay in control of regulatory requirements and deliver, together with other stakeholders within the bank, on the expected outcomes? And are you convincing and collaborative in stakeholder interactions, combining the independent challenger and trusted advisor aspects this 2nd line of defence role entails? Then the role of Credit Risk Regulatory Change Domain Lead within the Credit Risk Change & Control department will be an interesting opportunity for you.

Your job

As a Regulatory Change Domain Lead you will support Credit Risk in setting requirements and monitoring and coordinating the implementation of (regulatory) change topics. Your primary focus will be on assignments that involve interacting with our regulators ECB/DNB, such as coordinating On-Site Inspections, deep dives and periodic submission of finding remediations. And you will represent Credit Risk in the internal projects set up to deliver these remediations and further improvements to our credit risk lifecycle. You will functionally lead a team of +/- 5 FTE that will coordinate these activities alongside change- and business as usual colleagues across the Bank.

Working environment

You will work within the department Change & Control of Credit Risk. The team consists of 27 professionals who together have an overview of all relevant aspects of credit risk management, and bring a wealth of experience in project management, change management and consulting. The team has deep insight of the inner workings of the bank as a whole.
Within Credit Risk, professionals can grow and develop further, both in breadth and depth. Different views are valued and respected and it is encouraged to provide a new and innovative perspective. The atmosphere is open and informal, and we are always willing to help each other. Hierarchically you and the team will report to the Head of Credit Risk Change & Control.

Your profile

You are an energetic person with a positive attitude, a clear vision and a ‘getting things done’ mentality. You are focused on quality and are not afraid to ask questions or bring challenge that will help improve deliverables. You bring organisational sensitivity, are an excellent stakeholder manager and communicator.

Skills and Experience:

  • Work experience – you work and reason at a university level and have more than 12 years’ relevant experience in the financial sector and specifically credit risk.
  • Subject matter expertise - you have extensive demonstrable experience with and knowledge of Credit Risk specific regulation and its’ implementation. You have experience in working on regulatory requirements and deliverables, ideally also having interacted directly with regulators.
  • Professional skills – you bring structure, oversight, clarity on expectations and deliverables.
  • Communication skills – strong written & verbally, able to convey the compelling story and convince your stakeholders of the call to action. Comfortable in interactions with senior management & Board level stakeholders internally and external regulators. Fluent in English
